I bought the drop scale thinking I could use it for my own recipes. No can do. All it allows you to do is use one of their recipes. That wouldnt be so bad, if it werent for the fact that the large majority of their recipes deal with cakes, cookies and other horrible sweet things. You can use it as a regular kitchen scale, but its kinda expensive, plus you have to connect your iPad to it, which is cumbersome (compared to a regular cheap kitchen scale). This product is just collecting dust in my kitchen.

Was disappointed to find when I had an hour rise time on some bread and launched another app, that Drop lost my place in the recipe. I thought with the timer going it would run in the background and keep my place. Now I have to annoyingly click thru to the place I was at in the recipe to finish the bread. Not sure Ill be keeping this thing.

I love my Drop Kitchen scale and Recipe app! Ive baked so many different items in the past few weeks for different holiday parties and got a million compliments on my goods. I literally could not have made such tasty treats without my Drop! The entire process is simple and everything turns out perfect!!!

Drop has changed the way I cook! Its easy to use, the selection of recipes is varied and interesting, and everything Ive made has turned out great! Its perfect for the experienced cook, like me, and for the novice, like my husband. Results are always consistent, thanks to the easy to follow directions, tips and photos.

I can open the app and click on a recipe. However, it will close the app. Currently unusable and I was getting ready to use it for the first time.

My girlfriend was a skeptic at first, because she already enjoyed baking, but shes now a convert, because everything weve made with this has turned out spectacular, mainly cookies, but were going to tackle some more "difficult" recipes, soon. Weve been making something every weekend. Its nice they added a way to mark our favorite recipes. On the whole, we love it, and would definitely recommend it to any home that wants more fun in the kitchen making impressive things. This sucker works. September 2015 update: Nice new UI, and lots of new, awesome recipes.

Couldnt bake before, now Im learning about the math, science, and fun all because of this little app.

I love this scale and I love this app. The Drop Scale is the perfect piece of equipment for the budding baker, experienced foodie, or professional chef. The app takes all of the guess work out of baking. Everything is spelled out step by step. There are timers imbedded in the recipes and there are prompts and hints that help along the way. Im a professional pastry chef in New Orleans, and I use the scale every night I work. I love it better than any other scale because its shows up HUGE on the screen of my iPad. I love the app and use it at home to make things I wouldnt normally because of the step by step instructions, and the ease of making everything. Also, their support staff is great, ready to explain anything and everything. Baking for a living, I used to hate baking at home because it was too much like work. With the Drop Scale and app, theyve put the fun back into my home baking with recipes that are easy to follow no matter how complicated they are and the sense of discovery and accomplishment I feel after baking something Ive never done before. Its an amazing product that never gets old.

Im a complete novice at baking so decided to experiment with Drop to see how Id get on. The no-bake chocolate brownies looked perfect as they are gluten free, paleo, raw :) I followed the easy to understand steps (actually foolproof!) while the Drop scale did the hard work and lo and behold, the brownies turned out a treat! I served them as dessert at my dinner party and they went down a treat. Thank you Drop. Looking forward to making more soon :)

Worth it and then some. Only way to bake!

It is a really cool scale. Who ever thought of this must have kids because mine love to bake now. Its so easy. The only reason I gave it four stars is, seems some of the recipes are disappearing. Not sure what is going on but it was a little inconvenient. I bought all the ingredients for a healthy bread and by the time I got home to make it, it had vanished. No matter, I still love my drop kitchen. Im sure once they get the kinks out, it will be just fine.

I am reasonably good at grilling/smoking on a Big Green Egg but not much of a cook otherwise. Wife is bedbound and Im trying to expand our diet from microwave and ordering out. I received a Kitchenaid mixer and the Drop for Christmas. Have only made simple brownies so far but it was fun and straightforward. For those new to baking/cooking and kids I think this is a wonderful tool.

Received my Drop as a Christmas gift and love everything about it-especially the ability to adjust number of servings!! The only improvement I could suggest would bethe ability to upload my own recipes.

Love it !!! I dont have a scale yet, but will get one soon .. Thats going to make life a lot easier ..love the recipes keep up the good work a very smart invention..
